WHERE: President Lincoln’s Cottage. Entrance located at the intersection of Rock Creek Church Rd NW and Upshur St NW (GPS: 140 Rock Creek Church Road NW, Washington DC 20011). Ceremony will take place outside on the South Lawn of President Lincoln’s Cottage. In the case of inclement weather, ceremony will occur inside the Emancipation Room in President Lincoln’s Cottage.
WHAT: Twenty-two children from seventeen countries* whose families recently became U.S. citizens will be honored in a citizenship ceremony at President Lincoln’s Cottage, the seasonal residence of the Lincoln family during the Civil War and the site where President Lincoln developed the Emancipation Proclamation. This program is presented by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
