Lincoln scholars and government officials will present unique perspectives on the Emancipation Proclamation at the site of the document’s development.
December 21, 2012. President Lincoln’s Cottage, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, will host “Emancipation at 150: The Impact of the Emancipation Proclamation,” a panel discussion in recognition of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. This free panel presentation is open to the public and is co-sponsored by President Lincoln’s Cottage and the United States Commission on Civil Rights. The panel takes place on January 3, 2013 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at President Lincoln’s Cottage. RSVP is required and space is limited.
