Nearly 230 runners competed in the inaugural Freedom 5K XC at President Lincoln’s Cottage on Saturday September 27. Special thanks to all who made this fantastic event possible, including: Honorary Host Joan Benoit Samuelson; volunteers, runners, and staff from the Armed Forces Retirement Home; Potomac River Running; local vendor Upshur Street Books; volunteers, runners, and staff from President Lincoln’s Cottage and the National Trust for Historic Preservation; and the dedicated and inspiring participants.
