Northern Virginia Magazine’s Game Plan blog, Mashable, VentureBeat, and other news outlets highlighted our partnership with Google. Google’s Niantic Labs division built Field Trip, a location-based app that recommends nearby historic sites, eclectic bars and restaurants, live events, and more. For four weeks in July of 2013, Field Trip users gained free admission to 23 museums nationwide, including President Lincoln’s Cottage, when they were in proximity of a participating institution.
