In his temporary installation at President Lincoln’s Cottage, artist Georges Adéagbo combines found objects, images, and writings as a form of personal reflection. The result is a dyanmic “portrait” of the sixteenth president.
On Saturday, January 28, young audiences (recommended for ages 5-12) are invited to experience the installation through guided close looking and sketching exercises, gathering objects along the way to create their own self-portrait inspired by the exhibit. Young people will reflect on issues impacting them, how they’re making a difference, and the kids of things they’d put their “whole soul into” and create a self portrait that reflects their ideas.
This is a drop-in program throughout the day and accompanies a timed entry ticket to the installation. Admission is free; please register to reserve your space!
