I was fortunate to participate as a panelist at the 2008 American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) conference, which was held in Rochester, New York early this month.
In response to a couple requests from attendees for presentation notes and images, I decided to post my notes and those of fellow panelists for the session: “President Lincoln’s Cottage: A New Approach to the Historic House Experience” held on Wednesday, September 10th at 1:45pm.
Please note that while all notes are posted here with permission from the speakers, these documents are presentation notes–not transcripts of the talks we gave and not official, edited papers for publication. One speaker could not provide typed notes (only power point slides) so there are no typed notes for one panelist.
These notes and slides are for reference only and are intended for museum and historic house professionals and students interested in different approaches to interpretation.
