PAST EVENT: Memorial Day Tours of USSAH National Cemetery

Commemorate Memorial Day with guided tours of the United States Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home (USSAH) National Cemetery, the first National Cemetery created during the Civil War and the predecessor to Arlington National Cemetery.

headerThe Armed Forces Retirement Home and President Lincoln’s Cottage are proud to partner on Memorial Day (Monday May 26, 2014) for a wreath-laying ceremony and guided tours of the USSAH National Cemetery. Cemetery tours and wreath-laying ceremony are FREE and open to the public.

Wreath Laying at the Cemetery
10:00 am. FREE. Meet at bandstand adjacent to Cottage at 9:30 am.

Cemetery Tours
10:45 am and 12:30 pm. FREE. Meet at bandstand adjacent to Cottage at 10:15 am and 12:00 pm.

Cottage Tours
On the hour. First tour – 10:00 am, last tour – 3:00 pm. Regular ticket costs apply. Advanced purchase strongly recommended – purchase
online or call 202-829-0436 to reserve tickets.

Pack a picnic lunch so you can enjoy the beautiful grounds and cool breezes on this historic hilltop after your tours. Picnic tables and ample lawn space on the President Lincoln’s Cottage grounds are open to the public.
